Except for the signs in Korean, Kangnung's downtown buildings don't look too different from those in
a typical western city. Even the apartments are fairly plain boxes. But the older residential neighborhoods,
such as this one, retain much of Korea's traditional architecture, particularly in their tiled roofs.
